It’s ALWAYS been the Problem - Product Management/Ownership in the SDLC

Please look for Simon and the Agile2009 Conference and visit his blog to see his article on this topic.

This presentation will look at the Product Owner role on an Agile team from a Product Management perspective.  Many software development companies do not have the luxury of having real-time access to actual customers.  Instead these companies rely on their Product Management organizations to represent the needs of customers and the market.

This presentation will describe how the Pragmatic approach to Product Management gives the Product Owner and the entire team a collective understanding of the value of solving problems for markets and customers.

Simon Orrell entered the software industry as a developer in 1996 and has been managing software projects since 2000.  He has been coaching teams through the implementation of Scrum and Pragmatic Requirements since 2004. Simon has accreditations as a Professional Engineer (PEng), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP).  He has worked with teams in a variety of domains (Finance, E-Commerce, Oil and Gas) and recently has been focused on working with distributed teams implementing agile techniques.
